How to Increase Fertility - The Best Diet to Improve Fertility

huangyan      May 05, 2023

Infertility affects many couples these days. There are treatments to overcome these like IUI and IVF. However, there are things people can do to increase their fertility. There are foods which are very beneficial in increasing one's fertility.

Antioxidant-rich foods
Antioxidants like folate and zinc increase fertility in men and women
Antioxidants deactivate the free radicals in one's body
Those radicals can damage fertile sperm and egg cells
Foods such as:

Fruits,
Vegetables,
Nuts,
Grains,
Are full of antioxidants like vitamins C and E, folate, beta-carotene etc.

Breakfast should be bigger
Eating a substantial breakfast may help women with fertility problems.
According to a study, women ovulate more than women who ate a smaller breakfast and larger dinner, indicating healthier fertility
Trans Fats should be avoided
Healthy fat boosts fertility
Trans fats are associated with an increased risk of ovulatory infertility, due to their negative effects on insulin sensitivity
Trans fats are commonly found in hydrogenated vegetable oils
They are found in some fried, processed and baked foods
According to a study, a diet higher in trans fats and lower in unsaturated fats could lead to infertility
Refined Carbs are to be avoided
Refined carbs may be especially problematic
Sugary foods, drinks and processed grains, including white pasta, bread and rice fall under this category
These carbs are absorbed very quickly, causing spikes in blood sugar and insulin levels
Refined carbs have also have a high glycemic index
PCOS shows associations with high insulin levels
Refined carbs can make PCOS even worse
‍
Fibre consumption should be increased
Fibre helps the body in getting rid of excess hormones
It keeps the blood sugar level balanced
High fibre foods are whole grains, fruits, vegetables and beans
Certain types of fibre can help remove excess estrogen by binding to it in the intestines
Excess estrogen is removed from the body as a waste product
Live an active life
Exercises have many benefits to increasing fertility
Although, exercising in moderation is good
Excessive and high-intensity exercise decreases a person's chances of fertility
Good nutrition is not only a highly crucial aspect of a person's individual health but also a person's reproductive health. So taking care of what goes into the stomach is one essential steps towards increased fertility and, happy and healthy living.
